What does Butler’s analysis of the ways in which we are selves and are constructed as selves tell us about how myths, as narrations of identity, work? How are the establishment of norms related to myth? How are norms undermined by myths? Is the failure to provide a fully reliable account of oneself an ethical failure? And finally, what does Butler’s theory of narrativity here do to Ricoeur’s account?
